Azeri President: Baku willing to expand ties with Tehran

Baku, March 12, IRNA – Azeri President Ilham Aliyev said on Wednesday that his country is eager to promote relations with Iran.
Speaking to Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia-Pacific Affairs and special envoy on Caspian Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour, Aliyev said Iran’s new policy to promote interaction with the global community would prepare the ground for Tehran?s cooperation with other countries.

Highlighting cultural, historical and religious commonalties between Iran and Azerbaijan, Aliyev said Azerbaijan and Iran are determined to boost all-out ties.

Rahimpour said, for his part, that Iranian officials are determined to expand ties with all countries, especially neighbors particularly Azerbaijan.
