TEHRAN (FNA)- China and Iran stressed the need for utilizing the two countries' capacities to strengthen the Tehran-Beijing relations, particularly in the industrial sector.
Both Chinese Ambassador to Tehran Yohong Yang and Chairman of the board of directors of the Industrial Development & Renovation Organization (IDRO) Gholamreza Shafiyee underscored significance of developing industrial cooperation between the two friendly nations.
The meeting took place on the threshold of Shafiyee's visit to China.
The Iranian official, for his part, voiced IDRO's readiness to promote educational and research cooperation as well as developing industrial ties with China.
He further called on the Chinese ambassador to pave the way for boosting industrial cooperation between IDRO and Chinese companies.
Trade between Iran and China in the past year was estimated at $45bln.
Iran is currently China's third largest supplier of crude, providing Beijing with roughly 12 percent of its total annual oil consumption.
