Iran willing to cooperate with Lebanon to punish terrorists

TEHRAN, Feb. 25 (MNA) – Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon has said Iran is willing to operate with Lebanese authorities to fight terrorism.
Ghazanfar Roknabadi who was visiting Lebanon’s new foreign minister Gebran Gerge Bassil in the sidelines of a meeting between foreign minister and ambassadors and diplomats of Asian countries in Beirut, congratulated his taking office as foreign minister and discussed the common matters of interests and regional development.

Roknabadi announced Islamic Republic of Iran’s willingness to cooperate with Lebanon in intelligence and identifying and punishment of terrorists, and prevention of terrorism in Lebanon, “now that Iran bears the wounds inflicted by terrorists on it.”

He also believed that targeting of the security of Lebanese citizens was guided and supported by the Zionist regime and emphasized upon improving solidarity and unity ‘in such transition and critical stage.’

Roknabadi also believed the formation of Lebanese new cabinet was of positive impact on the politics and security of the country and the region at large.

He believed that terrorists’ cruel acts in Lebanon, Iraq, and Syria were in line with the Zionist regime policies and supported the regime’s interests.
