Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei said Thursday that the Iranian people would not agree to give up peaceful nuclear technology, but added the Iranian leadership was ready for negotiations on its nuclear program.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran as a whole underscores international partnership and the observance of international norms and rules dominating the non-proliferation regime, and Iran has always said that it is willing to hold negotiations to add transparency to its nuclear program," Mr. Sanaei said at roundtable hearings arranged by the Russian liberal party.
Iran "will never give up its people's right to possess peaceful nuclear technologies in line with the rules indicated in international treaties," he underscored.
