Iran to hold conference on World without Violence, Extremism in Malaysia

13 Feb 2014 - 10:01

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran’s Cultural Attaché in Malaysia said his country plans to hold “The World Free of Violence and Extremism” conference in Malaysia.

This seminar is scheduled for February 15 at De Palma Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, the Iranian students news agency reported.

The one-day conference is to be held by Iran's Cultural Attaché in Malaysia following the draft approval of a resolution proposed by the Islamic Republic of Iran in General Assembly of the United Nations and was titled “The World Against Violence and Extremism (WAVE)”.

Late in December, the UN General Assembly passed the resolution proposed by Iran to counter extremism and violence with the vote of the overwhelming majority of 190 United Nations member states.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has called for “The World Free of Violence” as he delivered speech in the UN General Assembly meeting held in September.
