Greek MP calls for broadening of bilateral ties with Iran

Athens, Feb 12, IRNA – A Greek politician and parliamentarian called for the further expansion of bilateral ties with Iran.

?Expansion of multilateral ties, specially enhancing trade and economic ties, is a necessity for Iran and Greece,? Greek MP Panayoutis Rafaranis said.


Talking to IRNA, the Greek MP said that Iran is a country with great civilization, history and culture.

?The civilized nation made the revolutionary country victorious according to its culture and civilization in a bid to free itself and their country from bounds of arrogant and expansionist powers,? the Greek lawmaker said.

He reiterated that Iran and Greece are two countries with ancient history and civilization and both countries have rendered many scientific and cultural services to the mankind; hence on the basis of their ancient and friendly ties on the one hand and their age-old rich history and culture they can enhance their relations in all fields, especially in trade and economic fields in line with their national interests.

The Greek MP pointed to the Iran?s ancient history and the country?s rich culture, and said, ?The Iranian nation has a culture which is rooted in history; hence this nation can proceed with its goals and its revolutionary objectives in order to secure welfare, growth in the lifestyle level of its citizens and achieving progress in scientific and technical fields.?
