Faezeh Hashemi Rafsanjani has been chosen as the president of Iran’s Association for Press Freedom.
The outspoken daughter of Ayatollah Rafsanjani, the Expediency Council chairman, served six months in jail for criticizing government officials and speaking to the press about the mistreatment of her family.
The association also chose Badrolsadat Mofidi as vice president and Abbas Safaifar as secretary and spokesman.
The Association for Press Freedom was established in 1998 and obtained its licence from the Ministry of the Interior in 2001.
