According to a report in this morning's (Thursday) Ma'ariv, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu asked Russian President Vladmir Putin to reject Iran's request of Russia to sell them the modern S-300 missile system. Per thereport, the discussion originally took place about three weeks ago during preparations for Ariel Sharon's funeral.
After three years of a freeze brought about by US and Israeli pressure, Teheran is renewing its efforts to acquire a new ground-to-air missile system from the Russians.
