Tehran-Ankara ties entering new progressing phase

Tehran, Jan 28, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham said Tuesday that Iran-Turkey cooperation has entered a new progressing phase.
Speaking to reporters at her weekly press conference, Afkham made the remarks referring to the visit to Tehran of the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdo?an which is to begin Tuesday afternoon.

According to a report by the Turkish embassy, a Turkish high-ranking delegation is to arrive in Tehran on this afternoon on a two-day visit.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Minister of Development Cevdet Yilmaz, Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Y?ld?z will accompany Premier Erdogan.

Referring to Iran and Turkey as two neighboring Muslim countries, the spokeswoman said Tehran attaches great importance to Erdogan?s visit to Iran which is the first ever visit of the Turkish premier following the President Hassan Rouhani?s inauguration last August.

While in Tehran, Erdogan is to hold separate meetings with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, President Rouhani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri.
