Iranian cinema season knocking on US screens

Iranian cinema festivals have started the 2014 screening programs in American different cultural centers in the country’s various cities.


The 18th Iranian film festival in Washington began on January 10 and will continue until February 22, 2014.

Boston Fine Arts Museum is also hosting the 20th edition of Iranian cinema festival that kicked off on January 17 and will come to an end on January 26.

The 21st Iranian film event in Houston also opened on January 24 to introduce modern Iranian cinema to the moviegoers. Organized by Houston Fine Arts Museum and Rice University, the festival will run until February 1.

Chicago is also scheduled to present the 24th Iranian film festival from February 7 through 28.

Parviz directed by Majid Barzegar, Curtain directed by Kambozia Partovi and Jafar Panahi, The Last Step directed by Ali Mosaffa and The Bright Day directed by Hossein Shahabi are among the film line up in the festivals.
