TEHRAN, Jan. 25 (MNA) – The United States Volleyball Federation has invited the Iranian volleyball team to play four friendly matches in Los Angeles, California.
On Thursday, the U.S. federation sent a letter to the Iranian counterpart and officially invited Iran to hold a training camp in Los Angeles.
Iran defeated the U.S. volleyball team 3-2 at the 2013 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Grand Champions Cup in Tokyo, Japan in November.
Julio Velasco’s team will play four friendlies against the U.S. on August 9, 13, 15, and 16, all in Los Angeles.
Iran freestyle wrestling team was also invited to the U.S. in May 2013 and beat the United States 6-1 at historic Grand Central Terminal in New York City.
The wrestling team was visiting the United States for the first time in a decade.
Iran volleyball team is now ranked 12 worldwide by the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) and the United States stands in the fourth place.
