Montreux, Switzerland, Jan 22, IRNA – Italian Foreign Minister Emma Bonino said on Wednesday that Iran’s absence was felt in the international conference on Syria in Swiss town of Montreux, Known as Geneva-2.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the foreign ministers conference in Montreux hotel, she regretted that Iran was absent.
In her remarks to IRNA reporter, Bonino regretted that an important and influential country, Iran, was not invited to the conference.
Bonino said that in her previous talks with her Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif, she had advised Iran to accept the communique of Geneva-1 conference, the prerequisite for invitation to Geneva-2.
She said that acceptance of the communique of Geneva-1 Conference was the key for participation of countries something Iran refused to do.
