The absence of Iran from the Geneva-2 international peace conference for Syria will not help the success of the upcoming event in Montreux, Switzerland, State Duma International Affairs Committee Chairman Alexei Pushkov said.
"The absence of Iran from the Geneva conference will not contribute to its success. They are fighting Iran, while the main problem in Syria is radical Islamists," he wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.
The peace conference dedicated to the Syrian settlement will begin in Montreux on Wednesday.
