Nasim—Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham rejected the formal schedule of a meeting between Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and US Secretary of State John Kerry this week on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, after American officials raised the possibility of such a meeting.
Senior aides to Mr. Kerry, including spokeswoman Jen Psaki, refused to comment on the issue but experts claimed that if it occurs, it would provide the US and Iran an important opportunity to discuss key developments in the Middle East, and attempt to keep their diplomatic rapprochement on track, according to U.S. officials and Middle East.
