TEHRAN, Jan. 21 (MNA) – Kioomars Hashemi was elected as the tenth President of the Iran’s National Olympic Committee (NOC) on Monday.
Hashemi succeeds Mohammad Aliabadi, who replaced Reza Gharakhanloo in October 2008.
In the presidential elections of National Olympic Committee (NOC), held at the National Olympic and Paralympic Academy of Iran, Hashemi secured 42 votes and Mehdi Ghadami and Mohammad-Jafar Kamboozia obtained nine and seven votes respectively. Two ballots were deemed invalid.
Shahrokh Shahnazi was elected as Iran’s NOC's secretary general following two rounds of votes. He replaced Bahram Afsharzadeh in the post.
Robab Shahrian and Alireza Dabir were appointed as Hashemi's deputies.
