Tehran, Jan 21, IRNA – Foreign Ministers of Iran and Turkmenistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the 13th joint economic cooperation commission meeting in 48 articles.Mohammad Javad Zarif and Rashid Merdov signed the MoU on Monday.
In the MoU, development of cooperation in the fields of electricity transfer, discovery of joint oil and gas fields, pepping up the trade, increasing communications between chambers of commerce, holding reciprocal exhibitions and strengthening cooperation between border provinces have been emphasized.
Cooperation in the fields of agriculture, ways to use joint water resources and border rivers were among other agreements in the MoU.
In the field of transit and transportation between the two countries, completion of trilateral railroad between Iran, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan as well as importance of quadrilateral south-north corridor between Iran, Oman, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan and creation of facilities in border points and customs were underlined.
Cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism were among other agreements.
