Austrian Airlines resumes Iran flights

18 Jan 2014 - 17:01

ILNA: Austrian Airlines is to resume Iran flights effective March 11 following a one-year break, according to the Vienna-based daily newspaper Wiener Zeitung.

Flights to Tehran can be booked now, the airlines said.

Austrian Airlines, using Airbus A320 or A319, will fly to Iran five times a week as part of its summer flight schedule.

A subsidiary of Germany’s Lufthansa, the Austrian airliner halted its rather lucrative flights to Iran last year because of western sanctions against Tehran.

Austrian Airlines has been flying to Iran since 1984.
