Beirut, Jan 18, IRNA – Iranian deputy justice minister said here Friday that Tehran will follow up the case of terrorist attacks against Iran?s embassy in Beirut till reaching a ?final result.?
Speaking to IRNA prior to leave Beirut on Friday, Abdol Ali Mirkouhi, head of the Iranian judiciary delegationsaid the investigation will continue till an acceptable final result be achieved.
Twin blasts occurred near Iranian Embassy in Beirut on November 19 killing 25, including Iran?s cultural attaché to Lebanon, Hojjatoleslam Ebrahim Ansari and leaving at least 150 others wounded.
Majid al-Majid, Saudi leader of Abdullah Azzam Brigades which had claimed responsibility for the bombing was arrested in Beirut, but died under suspicious circumstances in a military hospital few days after his arrest.
Mirkouhi told IRNA that Tehran is seriously pursuing fulfillment of the rights of Iranian nationals.
He said that the Lebanese officials have briefed Iranian delegation on latest developments and achievements made regarding the case.
Mirkouhi said that the Lebanese officials have assured them that ?according to medical records al-Majid?s death happened for natural reasons after he went in coma while being on dialysis.?
Mirkouhi said the Iranian side respected words and acts of the Lebanese officials but will follow up the case until no suspicion would remain to this end.
