Zarif’s regional tours seek to curb terrorism

15 Jan 2014 - 17:16

TEHRAN, Jan. 15 (MNA) – A Middle East political analyst has said Iran has waged a diplomatic attempt to curb the extension of terrorism in the region.

Seyed Musa Alizadeh Tabatabaei told Mehr News that the visit by Zarif to Jordan would be a turning point in Iran’s relations with Jordan. “Given the agreement by Jordan with Iran sending ambassador to the country, it is expected that the 10th joint economic commission with Jordan is established,” he added.

Tabatabaei believed Zarif’s second tour of the region intended to boost relations with all regional countries especially Jordan. “Terrorism is not limited to few countries. Iran has waged diplomatic attempts to curb the expansion of terrorism, including Jordan. Terrorism would not limit itself to one single place and it would roam freely the region,” he asserted.

“Iran’s diplomatic attempts have centered to prevent a great conspiracy in the region, and multinational cooperation would help advance the purpose,” he was quoted to say.
