New York, Jan 14, IRNA – Spokesperson for the UN chief Martin Nesirky said Monday that Secretary General Ban Ki-moon expressed satisfaction with implementation of the Geneva deal hoping the promising process would continue in future.
Speaking in a press conference, Nesirky told IRNA that all UN officials, the secretary general in particular, have welcomed beginning of the implementation of the joint plan of action signed by Iran and the Group 5+1 (US, Russia, Britain, France and China plus Germany) in the Swiss city on November 24, 2013 and are waiting for more positive achievements to that end.
Mr. Ban is enthusiastically waiting for the final outcome of the talks between the two sides which would reportedly resume on January 20, said the spokesperson.
Experts of Iran and the Group 5+1 organized a mechanism or a joint plan of action for implementation of bilateral agreement reached between the two sides in Geneva and have proposed January 20 for implementation of the joint plan of action.
Nesirky reiterated the great significance attached by the UN chief to Iran’s nuclear talks with the world Sextet noting that the Secretary General monitors the talks closely and is waiting for further positive outcomes.
