Iran FM pays tribute to martyrs of Lebanon resistance, Iran embassy blasts

Beirut, Jan 13, IRNA – Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif paid tribute to martyrs of the Lebanese resistance movement as well as martyrs of the last November terrorist blasts near the Iranian embassy in Beirut.

Foreign Minister Zarif visited the tomb of the martyrs in southern Beirut and prayed for the peace of the souls of the elevated martyrs.


During the November 19, 2013, terrorist attack against the Iranian embassy in Beirut 25 people including Iran’s cultural attaché to Lebanon, wife of an Iranian diplomat and four guards lost their lives while over 150 others were wounded.

Iran’s foreign minister arrived in Beirut late Sunday at the top of a political and parliamentary delegation on the first leg of his regional tour of four countries. He is in Beirut upon an invitation by his Lebanese counterpart Adnan Mansour.

Zarif is also to visit Iraq, Jordan and Syria after his visit to Lebanon.
