TEHRAN, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The joint special representative of the United Nations and the Arab League (AL) to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi arrived in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Sunday, Press TV reported.
During a one-day trip to Tehran, Brahimi will hold talks with a number of Iranian high-ranking officials, including Saeed Jalili, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, on the Syrian crisis.
He visited Saudi Arabia and Turkey recently and is expected to talk with Iraqi officials.
Last month, Iran's Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi expressed Tehran's readiness to assist Brahimi in his mission to restore peace in Syria.
