Iran condemns new settlements building in occupied lands

12 Jan 2014 - 16:50

Tehran, Jan 12, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham on Sunday strongly condemned new settlements builsing by the Zioniat regime in the occupied Palestinian lands.
Afkhan called on the United Nations and other international legal bodies to react to Tel Aviv?s decision and call for immediate halt to the project.

Israel?s decision to continue building settlements in the occupied lands clearly indicates its aggression against the oppressed Palestinian people, which brings an end to all the so-called peace plans, Afkham said.

Israel?s Housing Ministry announced Friday it would build 801 new housing units in the West Bank and another 600 in east Beit ul-Moqaddas. It also said it had plans to put out to tender the building of 532 settlement units in east Beit ol-Moqaddas as a previous tender for the project has failed.

EU foreign Policy chief Catherine Ashton, in a statement on Sunday, said she was deeply concerned about the move.
