Iran establishes "Mustafa" Award alternative to Nobel Prize

Baku. Real Jafarli – APA. Iran has established an award to support the development of science in the Muslim world.
APA reports quoting IRIB that the award is an alternative to Nobel Prize and described as the Iranian Nobel Prize. The award was named after one of the Islamic prophets Mustafa. This award will be given to scholars for the best inventions in the Muslim world. A council will control awarding process. The body determined some targets and objectives to encourage Muslim scholars for development of science, new inventions and scientific partnerships.

Iran will present the first Mustafa award for 4 nominations within Islamic Unity Week next year. Precious medals with the Persian, Arabic and English inscriptions will be also given to nominees along with cash prizes.

For the first time, the cash prize will be $ 500 000.
