Kish Island once again hit by quake

Tehran, Jan 9, IRNA – An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale shook once again the Kish Island in southern province of Hormuzgan on Thursday.
According to seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the quake occurred at 10:01 hours local time (0831 GMT).

The quake was epicentered in an area located at 26.72 degrees latitude and 53.96 degrees longitude.

This morning, Kish Island was shaken by a 4.3-magnitude tremor at 09:43 hours local time.

Head of the crisis management headquarters of the island told IRNA that the morning tremor caused no damage.

Kish Island, 90 square km, is a beautiful island in the Persian Gulf. It is situated 300 km from the provincial capital, Bandar Abbas.
