TEHRAN, Jan. 7 (MNA) – Iran’s FM has said in a meeting with Tunisian ambassador that extremism knows no Shia and no Sunni.
Khalid al-Zaytouni, who is in the final part of his mission as ambassador to Tehran, met with Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s foreign minister.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran respects Tunisia as the pioneer of revolution and evaluates relations with Tunisia as highly important,” he said, “We seriously seek extension of ties with the country.”

“Extremism inside and outside Islamic world poses great dangers, the most exemplary of which we now see in Iraq and Syria,” Zarif said, believing that extremist acts of crime in Iraq revealed that it knew no Shia and Sunni, but that they advanced their political agenda under the cover of religious claims, thus making imperative alliance against the extremism.

Khalid al-Zaytouni emphasized on extending bilateral ties especially in economy and culture, and expressed hopes the joint commission would bring practical progress to Tehran-Tunisia relations.
