TEHRAN Jan 04 (Shana): Maroun Oil and Gas Production Company has managed to realize its oil production target fully by producing 600 thousand barrels per day over the first 9 months of current Iranian calendar year, began 21 March 2013.
Managing director of the company, Seyyed Abdollah Mousavi, made the remarks adding the company has also started repairing a 20 inches gas pipeline with the goal of preventing gas flare. “Upon completion, the company will prevent burning of 30 mcf of gas per day”, according to Mousavi.
Based in Ahwaz, the Karoun Oil and Gas Production Company, is in charge of management and production of oil, gas and liquefied gases from the fields located within Ahwaz District.
As the largest oilfields in Iran, Ahwaz Asmari and Bangestan oil fields are located within the scope of the company's activities. The company supplies over 500,000 barrels of crude per day to Abadan, Tehran and Tabriz refineries, and redirects the remaining bulk of its production to the oil export terminal in Kharg. Furthermore the daily production of 50,000 barrels of NGL has turned Maroun into a major supplier of Bandar Imam Petrochemical Industries’ needs.
