'Iran ready to continue serious nuclear talks'

30 Dec 2013 - 22:41

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has expressed Tehran’s preparedness to continue serious talks with the international community over issues regarding the country’s nuclear energy program.

In a recent article published in an Indian daily, Rouhani elaborated on the achievements of his administration during 2014 and its objectives for 2014.

Rouhani noted that he is examining ways to expand Iran’s relations with the European Union and the UN.

The Iranian president pointed to the insecurity in Iran’s neighboring countries which endangers the interests of regional and international powers and called for coordinated effort by those powers to restore stability in the region.

Rouhani highlighted Iran’s role as a key regional player and expressed Tehran’s preparedness to provide all the required assistance for the promotion of stability in the region.

He pointed to the Iranophobia campaign which seeks to portray Iran as a threat and called on the elements who orchestrate the scenario to stop the propaganda for the sake of peace and tranquility in the region.

Alluding to Israel’s Iranophobia campaign and the regime’s allegations against Iran over its nuclear energy program, Rouhani said all those efforts were aimed at diverting attentions from Israel’s settlement constructions in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Iranian president slammed the sanctions against Iran over its nuclear dossier and noted that the bans merely poison the environment and create obstacle in the way of any achievement.
