TEHRAN, Dec. 28 (MNA) – An Iranian legislator has said Parliament is serious to pass the bill mandating 60% uranium enrichment.


Mehr News Parliament correspondent reported that some Parliamentarians disagreed to a part of Geneva deal which postulated that “Involve a mutually defined enrichment programme with mutually agreed parameters consistent with practical needs, with agreed limits on scope and level of enrichment activities, capacity, where it is carried out, and stocks of enriched uranium, for a period to be agreed upon.”

“Since we do not trust the west we would pass it into law to ask the government and nuclear negotiation team to continue talks based on it,” said Kowsari, a Parliamentarian.

This obliged the Parliamentarians to contribute to the issue to make government committed to increase enrichment up to 60% in case of industrial, medical, agricultural needs in addition to marine fuels.

This legislator asserted that they were going to make the government increase uranium enrichment due to the country’s nuclear needs.

However, some Parliamentarians voiced their disagreement to the bill because they believed it might have the other side roll back to its previous options.

The proponents of the bill believed that this would be one of the greatest decisions for the 9th Parliament to be made on a critical issue as this.
