Tehran, Dec 21, IRNA – Vice President and Head of Depart of Environment Masoumeh Ebtekar said that Iran-Italy cooperation in the field of environment will boost following the removal of challenges facing the sector.
She made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Italian Foreign Minister Emma Bonino late on Saturday.
The two officials discussed environmental issues as well as mutual cooperation.
Ebtekar who was accompanying Bonino while touring Biodiversity and Wild Life Museum in the capital city told reporters that suitable grounds are prepared for promotion of bilateral ties.
High-level talks held between the two countries created new capacities for expansion of cooperation, she said.
According to Ebtekar, Bonino?s Tehran visit has paved the way for signing of preliminary memorandum of understanding on mutual cooperation in the spheres of energy, water and air.
?We can use Italy?s experience in the field of green industries and promoting standards in scientific technologies for solving environmental problems,? Ebtekar said.
Inviting Italian experts and companies to take part in the International Environmental Exhibition slated to open on February 13, she noted that undoubtedly, this will usher in a new era in environmental collaboration between the two countries.
