TEHRAN Dec 17 (Shana): Deputy minister of petroleum for research and technology said that petrochemical industry had had great achievements in its move toward self-sufficiency.
Speaking at a meeting of elite researchers of petrochemical industry to commemorate Week of Research, Mohammad Reza Moqqdam said research and technology were the main pillars of development in oil industry.


“Oil industry is a national asset so we should safeguard it in the best way. We should move toward optimal use of this asset by expanding downstream activities and ending to selling raw materials”, Moqqadam said.


Research and technology should lead to production of commodities and goes beyond national borders, he concluded.
