TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Seyed Abbas Araqchi left Tehran for Berlin a few hours ago.
During his one-day trip, Araqchi plans to take part in a joint meeting with senior German officials as part of the two countries' political consultations.
The Iranian official is also slated to have a meeting with the German deputy foreign minister, and deliver a speech at the Korber Foundation.
In September, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani underlined the key role that Iran and Germany can jointly play in the establishment of peace, security and tranquility in the region.
Germany is an important trade partner of Iran. Berlin has long been ignoring the US-led sanctions against Iran.
Iran and Germany have tried to expand their bilateral relations in recent years through reciprocal visits by the two countries’ officials.
