Tehran, Dec 11, IRNA � Venezuelan Ambassador to Tehran Amenhotep Zambrano said here Wednesday that his country supports Iran�s candidacy for the post of secretary general of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries.
Zambrano told IRNA that Iran is a friendly and brotherly country for Venezuela, adding that the Islamic Republic is a powerful and influential country in the Middle East region.

He said Caracas will support Iran�s candidacy for the OPEC secretary general post the same as it did for the country during the Gas Exporting Countries Forum.

As to Tehran-Caracas ties, he said the two have already signed ten oil agreements, expressing hope the two nations would witness further expansion of all-out cooperation.
