Vienna, Dec 9, IRNA – Expert level negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Group 5+1 kicked off on Monday afternoon in Vienna.
Director General for Political and International Affairs at the foreign ministry Hamid Baeedinejad chairs the Iranian delegation.


Iranian experts in charge of tackling sanctions and Central Bank of Iran (CBI) officials have taken part in the negotiations.

Ashton’s aide Stefan Clement chairs the G5+1 experts delegation.

IAEA Deputy Director-General for Safeguards Tero Varjoranta attended the meeting.

Representatives from other members such as the US, Russia, UK, France, China and Germany are present.

On November 24, in Geneva, Iran and G5+1 agreed that Iran will not enrich uranium beyond five percent and give access to IAEA inspectors in return for access to Iranian assets frozen with the foreign banks.

In the meantime, the Western governments undertook to lift sanctions on petrochemical industries, gold trade, auto-parts and airplane parts.

Experts say that removal of the arbitrary sanctions will enable Iran to take delivery of dlrs 20 billion from the frozen assets.
