Minister of Economic Affairs: I would resign

8 Dec 2013 - 17:02

TEHRAN, Dec. 8 (MNA) – A Parliament Budget and Plan Commission member has said minister of economic affairs has said he would resign.

Ahmad Amirabadi told Mehr News reporter that Ali Tayyebnia had received yellow card from the Parliament and told the Parliament Board he would resign as the minister, “and would not stay in the ministry even for a minute.”

“After receiving yellow card, Tayyebnia got angry and told Bahonar, the Speaker, that he would resign after leaving the Parliament,” he added.

Qom representative in the Parliament also added that former minister of the economic affairs had received yellow cards from the representatives when summoned to provide comments about Central Bank governor Bahmani’s conduct. “He received 2 yellow cards from me and Mr. Naderan,” he said.

“It is true that minister of economic affairs is not an authority in appointing Central Bank, but Parliament could only question the ministry of economic affairs about monetary policies of the Bank,” he said.
