The new Iranian nuclear deal and the prospects for Israeli-Palestinian peace are expected to be on the agenda when U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry holds talks on December 5 with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Kerry arrived in Israel following a trip to Europe.

Netanyahu has been a vocal opponent of the deal between Iran and six world powers, calling it a historic mistake that will permit Iran to continue its nuclear program.

Under the deal, Iran has agreed to halt parts of its nuclear program, in exchange for partial relief from international sanctions.

Israel views the possibility of an Iranian nuclear weapon as an existential threat to the Jewish state.

After his talks with Netanyahu, Kerry is scheduled to meet with Palestinian Authority President Mahmud Abbas in the West Bank.
