Bombs in Iraq target senior officials in Abu Ghraib, Kurds' Sulaimaniyah

3 Dec 2013 - 10:34

TEHRAN (FNA)- Bombings near homes of government employees on Monday left three people dead in Baghdad.

According to police officials, a bomb exploded near the home of a local official from Abu Ghraib. Two were killed in the explosion and four were wounded, AP reported.

Another explosion in Abu Ghraib targeting a health ministry employee left one other person dead and five others wounded.

In related news from Iraq, two senior security officers were wounded when sticky bombs attached to their cars exploded near Sulaimaniyah city in Iraq's self-ruled Kurdish region.  Unlike the rest of Iraq, Kurdistan has experienced relative peace over the past year as clashes and attacks in the rest of the country escalate.
