TEHRAN (FNA)- Thai protesters on Monday renewed their attack on the government building in Bangkok, prompting riot police to fire tear gas and stun grenades.
A crowd of around 2,000 gathered near barricades erected by the authorities to stop protesters approaching Government House, Reuters reported.
The demonstrators also managed to dismantle some on Chaimaruchet Bridge, a main intersection on Sunday.
Protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban said there were no negotiations with the government and, speaking on television, called for a general strike starting on Monday. The government has reportedly deployed troops in the capital.
