TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan voiced deep concern over the continued spread of terrorism and extremism in the region.
Criticizing the “inhuman and dangerous phenomenon of Takfiri terrorism” in the region, the Iranian minister said on Sunday that they (the extremists) are to “spread terrorism from Syria to Iraq”.
Dehqan further stressed that the issue will put in danger regional stability and security, the Islamic republic news agency reported.
On Tuesday, Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi criticized some regional countries for supporting extremist and terrorist groups in the region and warned that such measures only benefit Israel.
Late in October, Iran's First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri laid emphasis on the negative impacts of extremist thoughts for the entire Muslim world, and called for Muslims' vigilance against such deviations.
Addressing the heads of Islamic countries’ chambers of commerce held on the sidelines of the 14th International Trade Fair of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Tehran, Jahangiri underlined that the extremist groups should not be allowed to take advantage of differences of opinion to fuel the flames of discord between Muslims.
He voiced Iran’s readiness to help resolve problems facing the Islamic Ummah, specially in the sensitive and strategic region of the Middle-East.
