Iranian researchers produce honey-made nano-fiber for treating wounds

25 Nov 2013 - 14:11

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian researchers have produced a drug-carrying nano-fiber web using biodegradable artificial polymer and honey as a natural polymer, which can be used in covering wounds and producing restorative layers.
Honey has long been used a healing material for treatment of different types of wounds because of its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Mixture of nano-fibers with honey can cover the wounds and treat the injuries.

The results of the research conducted by researchers at Tehran and Amir-Kabir universities as well as Dutch Twente have been published at Applied Polymer Science Journal.
