23 Nov 2013 - 9:27

Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri is scheduled to pay an official visit to Iran to hold talks with the country’s officials.
Berri is due in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Sunday, said Hassan Sheikholeslam, an adviser to Iran's Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani on international affairs.

Berri’s visit comes at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart, added Larijani's adviser.

According to Sheikholeslam, Berri is scheduled to sit down with Larijani and other high-ranking Iranian officials during his four-day stay in Iran.

In November 2012, Larijani visited Lebanon as part of a three-leg tour which also took him to Iraq and Syria.

During his stay, the Iranian parliamentarian met and held talks with his opposite number as well as Secretary General of Hezbollah Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah.
