Firing in Pakistan kills police officers, civilian

Islamabad, Nov 18, IRNA – Two police officers and a civilian were killed on Monday as unidentified men fired on a procession against the sectarian clashes in Rawalpindi which claimed 11 lives on Friday.
A policeman guarding the procession and a participant were killed, the police said, adding that two more people were injured.


Curfew was imposed in several districts and the people were asked to remain indoors. The authorities closed all entry points to the city, police said.

Police also arrested several people.

Menawhile the government has ordered the Ministry of Information Technology (MoIT) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take strict action against anyone who propagates sectarianism via social media or mobile phones.

The ministry has been directed to identify data of such content from cellular companies and internet service providers.
