Tehran, Nov 12, IRNA – The Arak heavy water facilities can be inspected before December 11 and ahead of the new round of talks between Iran and the UN nuclear watchdog in Vienna, spokesman of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Behrouz Kamalvandi said Tuesday.
Speaking to IRNA, he said, “If Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reach an agreement on details of the inspection, then the visit can take place through coordination with the AEOI.”

Kamalvandi made the remarks while commenting on a new agreement signed between the AEOI and IAEA during the recent visit to Tehran of the IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano.

Referring to Amano’s meeting with the head of the AEOI Ali Akbar Salehi Monday in Tehrarn, he said they agreed that the IAEA inspections be based on bilateral agreement and that the agency announces the details of the inspection to the Iranian side.

“Amano and Salehi agreed on Monday that the inspectors announce what kind of information they need,” Kamalvandi added.

Iran and the IAEA issued a joint statement on Monday which contains a roadmap for nuclear cooperation and clarifies bilateral cooperation on the remaining issues.

The joint statement also has a six-point appendix.

They agreed to hold next round of Iran-IAEA talks in Vienna on December 11.
