Thailand, Turkish festivals to host Iranian plays

3 Nov 2013 - 15:14

Two international theater festivals in Thailand and Turkey are slated to host Iran’s 27-Aban Theater Troupe’s works directed by Hamed Zare’an.
The two street plays Little Clown and My Childish World are scheduled to be performed at the Harmony-World Puppet Carnival in Bangkok, Thailand, 2014.

The plays have been also invited to the 2014 International Bursa Theatre Festival for Children and Young People in Turkey.

Zare’an other traditional Street Theater dubbed All My Puppets was also presented in several international festivals.

The 27-Aban Theater Troupe is in charge of producing the musical performance, rendered in a street theater style, in an attempt to present Iranian traditional puppets and Persian tales.

“We are making four giant puppets adapted from the Iranian traditional fictional characters, so that the performance would introduce Persian traditional theater to the world,” Zare'an had earlier said.

The troupe has been awarded in several international festivals for their previous productions Sculpture and Nowruz Khan.
