Tehran, Nov 3, IRNA – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said Iran is not to get hurt by negotiations.
The ayatollah made the remarks here on Sunday while addressing thousands of university and school students on the occasion of Aban 13 (November 4) which marks the National Day to Fight Global Arrogance.
Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated that ?nobody is entitled to term our team of negotiators as compromisers as they are our own children and are the offspring of the Islamic Revolution.?
The Supreme Leader further stressed that they (the negotiators) shoulder a heavy responsibility to carry out, adding that nobody has to demoralize a person who is undertaking a task.
?As I told before in Mashhad, I am not optimistic about the outcome of the talks but God willing we will not be hurt by carrying out negotiations?, Ayatollah Khamenei stressed, adding that experience will even add to the theoretical abilities of the nation.
The Supreme Leader stressed that Iran would welcome the positive outcome of the talks but if they fail then it means that the nation has to stand only on its own feet.
Ayatollah Khamenei underlined that an enemy which is smiling (to us) should not be trusted.
He said the Americans express interest to hold talks with Iran and keep smiling on one hand and then immediately say that they still have all options on the table.
Ayatollah Khamenei said while three decades ago Iranian students labeled the US embassy in Tehran as den of espionage, the US embassies are currently labeled the same in other parts of the globe even in countries close to America.
Aban 13 rallies which mark the anniversary of the US embassy takeover by Iranian students in 1980 indicate the hatred of the Iranian nation towards the unjust approach of the arrogant powers.
