Damascus, Oct 30, IRNA – Iranian Ambassador to Syria Mohammadreza Raouf Sheibani held a meeting with United Nations and Arab League Special Envoy on Syria Lakhdar Brahimi in Damascus on Wednesday.
After the meeting held in the absence of reporters, Sheibani told IRNA that Brahimi referring to Iran’s positive role in solving Syrian crisis, had stressed the need for Iran’s presence in Geneva-II Conference on Syria.
The UN special envoy, in an attempt to make necessary preparations for Geneva-II Conference, had visited seven regional countries including Iran, before arriving in Damascus on Monday.
