Iranian MP confers with Afghan delegation, calling for presence of women in international scene

Tehran, Oct 29, IRNA – Head of Iran-Afghanistan parliamentary friendship group Laleh Eftekhari said on Tuesday that Muslim women must exercise presence in the international meetings to echo voice of Islam.
Eftekhari told a group of Afghan women in Tehran that Muslim women should be present in the international scenes.

She hoped that Iran-Afghanistan cooperation would continue and get strengthened once Iran-Afghanistan parliamentary friendship group takes shape.
She noted that Iran and Afghanistan share many common grounds, citing the religious affinities.

She said that the Afghan citizens residing in Iran are in better condition than the past and many of their educational and living problems have been removed.

Meanwhiile, Nafiseh Monsef, the head of Afghan public office, for her part, thanked Iran for the support to Afghanistan over the past several decades, saying that during Afghan war, Iranian nation supported Afghans and that Iranian assistance is still continuing.

She lauded Iranian women’s activities in various scientific, industrial and political fields.
