Iran family drama acclaimed in 2013 Tokyo film festival

Iranian drama Bending The Rule (Rule of Accident)directed by Behnam Behzadi has received award at the 26th edition of Tokyo International Film Festival.
The movie which is Behzadi’s second theatrical feature picked up Special Jury Prize of the event.

Behzadi, the director and producer of the family drama, is continuing the legacy of modernized perceptions by the country’s new generations in the film.

Bending The Rule recounts the story of a theater troupe, that wants to take part in a theater festival abroad; however, the group members face certain difficulties before their trip.

The movie was also awarded with the Crystal Simorgh for the best film in the international section of Iran’s 31st Fajr International Film Festival.

The film will compete at the 35th Festival Des 3 Continents, which will be held from November 19 to 26 in Nantes, France.

Tokyo festival’s Sakura Grand Prix went to the Swedish filmWe Are the Best! directed by Lukas Moodysson while the Audience Award was presented to Red Family directed by Lee Ju-hyoung.

The 26th Tokyo International Film Festival was held from October 17 to 25, 2013.
