Iranian drama The Rooster Trademark Paper has contended for awards at the 2013 Shariah International Children’s Film Festival (SICFF).
Directed by the female filmmaker Maryam Milani, the movie was screened at the Competition section of the festival.
Distributed by Iran’s Visual Media Institute, The Rooster Trademark Paper revolves around a boy who passionately participates in a movie competition.
The 93-minute production premiered at the 35th International Children’s Film Festival LUCAS in Germany in September, 2012.
Milani’s first feature film was also presented at Chicago Children film festival in the United States and Brussels children film festival in Belgium in 2012.
The movie was nominated for two categories of Audience and Special Jury Awards at the 16th Toronto Children’s Film Awards.
Director, producer and screenwriter, Maryam Milani was born in 1966 in the Iranian city of Tabriz and graduated in Writing and Directing in Theater.
Milani’s directorial productions include some television advertisements, documentaries, educational movies and short movies.
A number of the world's best films made for children and youth were presented at this year’s Sharjah festival.
The 2013 Sharjah International Children's Film Festival kicked off on October 16 and is coming to an end today, October 21.
