Iran Completed a Constructive Round of Talks with IAEA Delegation

Iran  completed a "constructive" round of talks with the IAEA delegation on Tuesday and further meetings are planned, Reuters quoted Iran's the semi-official Fars news agency.

A high-ranking delegation of the IAEA, headed by the agency's Deputy Director General Herman Nackaerts and its number two Rafael Grossi, arrived in Tehran on Sunday upon an invitation by the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI).

The visit was aimed at holding talks within the framework of the IAEA article of association to bolster cooperation between the two sides.

Mohammad Karamirad, a member of the influential parliamentary committee on national security and foreign policy, said on Tuesday that the visit by the IAEA team showed Iran has had "comprehensive and honest cooperation with the agency."

Karamirad added, "The visit can be beginning of new round of talks with the West, and it proves the peacefulness of Iran's nuclear activities."

Although Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Monday that the IAEA team could extend the visit and inspect Iran's nuclear sites, the team announced that they would leave Iran later on Tuesday.

According to IRNA, IAEA's delegation did not visit or inspect any of country’s nuclear sites and it was merely an expertise delegation for holding usual talks with Iranian side.
